The single worst part of chronic illness? It’s not the illness. Truly; illness can be learned and accepted and coped with. It may involve pain, fatigue and increasing amounts of bitterness, but these things are like furniture in the House of You*. Sometimes you get stuck with an ugly lamp and you never get rid of it.  Hella annoying.  Still, you can get away with having an ugly lamp. No,...

Was writing merely an unfortunate side-effect of young age? Because I used to have a lot of it going on, you know, the way other kids had acne and alcohol poisonings.  Then, like most other kids, I apparently got over it.  Was it a permanent recovery? How likely is a relapse? I ask because I may be interested in experimenting with it again - I may - but I fear it would require me to re-acquaint...

I like the branded, identical city places. I like Starbucks, I like the multiplying steakhouses, I like IKEA.  I will choose to take a seat at Starbucks or the closest equivalent available to me because it offers a sense of familiarity without being uncomfortably intimate. I will endlessly appreciate how the employees do not greet me as I enter just because I’ve been there a handful of times...

Dear person or persons whose occasional internet banter and shared obsessions I partake in and enjoy: You are in my Optimal Communication Zone.  I can never ever tell you this in a personal and direct manner, because good god I’m not even half as clingy and creepy as that would inevitably come out.  The point is, I need you no closer than exactly where you are. I consider you a valued friend...

Words about things I read in 2011, pt 2
The female authored boy’s books Yeah, remember that beautiful review some serious newspaper lady spouted about GRRM’s A song of ice and fire? Possibly it was about the tv series, specifically. Anyway. The verdict was that this was a boy’s fantasy with maybe some nipples thrown in to please the female audience. And, you know, response, crankypants, mumble grumble, yada yada....

I notice the kindle’s battery time being advertised based on “30 minutes of daily reading” and burst into alienated giggles because jesus christ is 30 minutes the average for reading people I thought the 3-4 hours was the norm OH WELL IF IT’S NOT THE NORM I GUESS IT’S THE CLIFF

Awkward
I like Awkward.  I’m too lazy to be an active fan person or whatever so people should please just start filling my dashboard with nice Awkward referency things.
